Rebecca's best friend Carol had one last class to take to get her Bachelor's degree and she had convinced Rebecca to join her. On her excited/nervous first day, her Professor had asked the class why they took the class with the exception of using the reason "I need it for a credit." Confident for her turn, she had answered, "I took this class because in order to have a future, you need to know your history". That quote caught a few smirks, approving head nods, and a turned head by JChryst.
When his cue came, he complimented their teacher of his other discipline of studies, martial arts, and how he was honored to be under his tutelage - basically sucking up the first day. And to fulfill a dare by a co-worker he blurted out "oh, and I'm single."
